For all the exhibitions to date we have required that artists should be local (working or living in villages and towns within 15 miles from Rugby Town Centre, or with strong connection to the town). We do get asked about including artists from further afield and from Coventry. For the October exhibition we have once again taken the theme of Rugby Town and environs. This time its with the addition of People as well as places. So people from Rugby could be the theme. Places in Rugby could be. Or it can be people and places. The choice is up to you. As its such a local theme we have opened this exhibition call up to artists from other places. So it does not matter _where_ you live or work, artists from Coventry, Stratford or Birmingham are welcome to apply.
Applications are accepted from mid-July to mid-September and you can find out how to apply and get access to the online booking forms from the Exhibiting page on this website or this link to the information.
We often get asked about exhibiting at the Alex. There are various ways that you can do this, from taking part in one of the open calls, to hiring cabinet space, to hiring stall space or being invited to exhibit. You can see what sort of opportunities there are on the Exhibiting page. As with any other gallery we have different types of exhibition – from open calls (themed and unthemed), to ones where they are specific qualifiers. So do look through the list on the page to see what may be coming up.
