Great reporting about Rugby MP John Slinger talking passionately about the cultural heritage of market towns he referenced some of our musical talent and also mentioned Art at the Alex. Its great to have someone who is talking out about Rugby’s creative strengths who is passionate and knowledgeable about music and the arts scene here. Much appreciated.

Market towns have always been a centre for people to meet up and make connections and this includes cultural connections. Many of our artists and makers are small traders in their own right, or aspiring to become so. The Alex loves being a shop window for their talents and our opening hours are based around the traditional Friday and Saturday of market days in Rugby (now with Thursdays added). We want there to be lots of interesting, not-available-elsewhere reasons to visit Rugby, and for more people in and out of the town to know about them. If you want to meet artists there are always ones here and we make some very interesting alliances and connections.
