Needle felting workshop – get to work on an egg!

Local textile artist Bethany Hughes – who has been frequently spotted sewing genteelly as Blue Coppice (counted thread embroidery) has also been seen stabbing long spiky needles into wool to create cute needle-felted trees, Christmas puddings and the odd toadstool. She assures me that its very stress-relieving.

In April, in time for Easter, she will be showing you how to make cute Easter Eggs (and chicks too by the look of her poster). Its £25 to book into morning or afternoon session, ‘where you’ll learn the art of transforming soft, unspun wool into beautiful three-dimensional sculptures. Using special barbed needles, you’ll discover the calming process of shaping wool into unique designs’.

You will be guided into making your own end and ‘once your egg takes shape, you’ll have the opportunity to decorate it with a range of colorful wools and embellishments, including beads, sequins, buttons, and ribbons.’ All this and no calories!
