‘Not selected’ is such a sad phrase to an artist who has put their best work forward with high hopes. However with so much good work to choose from, exhibition judges are spoilt for choice. The ‘good’ news is that there is a tradition in the art world of ‘Salons des Refusés’ – shows which show only work which has been rejected elsewhere. This is the second such salon at the Alex and we will have work which is impressive, amusing and touching. (Where else in Rugby will you see a large wooden story with chicken legs – there is a story behind this*).
Artists with work in this exhibition includes: Carol Wheeler, Dee Luntley, Debra Wenlock,Nicky Luntley, IJE, Jennie Fletcher, Georgina Millington, Huyen Phan, Mark Anderson-Howe, Gemma Whitford, Sarais Crawshaw, Clare Pentlow, Mjay Artography, Polly Hall, Sam Basnett, Steve Davies and Chris Pegler. Many of those names will be familiar so you will know to expect some fine art.
* If you want to know about the stunning house below look up its owner (Baba Yada). Made by Mark and bound to be quite a talking point.
