Warwickshire Open Studios is the biggest art event in the region each year. It invites you to meet artists and see them at work in studios during its Summer Art Weeks. This is the fourth year of WOS at the Alex. In 2022 we had 14 artists, in 2023 this rose to 20 and in 2024 we had 18.
However … we really wanted to give the artists more space and also involve the ‘studio’ part of the Alex a bit more. This year we have seven artists who are registered for WOS summer art weeks and we have given them more space to spread out and demonstrate. They are (in the Print Room) Steve Davies, Bethany Hughes (Blue Coppice), Clare Pentlow. In the Garden Room its Sarais Crawshaw and Glynis Hayward-Bradley. In the Garden its KJ Matthews, who will be joined in the pavilion by a range of visiting artists who will come along to demonstrate their art/crafts. Steve Davies and Belinda Edwards will open up their studios and Chris Pegler will offer two days of demonstrations in hers.
AND WE ARE OPEN EACH OF THE WEEKENDS! So more days open and two late evenings, one of which will feature music by the Mudlands String Band. Make a note of the dates and look out for us in the brochure.
