On 27th March Steve Davies and Chris Pegler donned their glad rags and enjoyed an evening at The Belgrade Theatre alongside 50+ other finalists for ten awards by Coventry and Warwickshire Chamber of Commerce. We enjoyed ourselves – and it was nice to meet up with Rugby Mayor Simon Ward who was attending as a VIP with Naomi Issitt of OurJay Foundation as his guest. Cue picture of us in the melee at the after party.
The winner of the Cultural and Creative Activator award was a small video company Blunt and Brave (who when first set up had offices in Clifton Road – so a past connection to the town). The Alex was a worthy runner up alongside three giants in this field – Coventry Cathedral Art and Events, Imagineering Inc and Stratford upon Avon College. We had good company and feel very honoured to have made the finals and raised (we hope) the profile of Art at the Alex in the Warwickshire Business community. Definitely an evening to make you excited about all that is going on in the area. Maybe next time there will be a Rugby-based winner?
